Louisiana State shortstop Austin Nola was the first of three former Danville Dans selected on Tuesday in the Major League Baseball draft. Nola, a member of the 2009 Danville Dans, was chosen by the Miami Marlins in the fifth round.
The next former Dan to hear his name called was Arkansas State pitcher Jacob Lee, who was chosen by the Cleveland Indians in the ninth round. Rounding out Tuesday’s portion of the draft, Justin Amlung from Louisville was taken in the 12th round by the Chicago Cubs.
On Wednesday, 2010 Danville Dan Bryan Haar (San Diego) was taken in the 34th round by the Minnesota Twins, completing the 2012 draft for the Dans.
Good luck Dans!
