TAYLOR LEADS EAGLES IN POST-SEASON PLAY
EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The ninth-ranked University of Southern Indiana baseball team opened NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Series play with a late-night victory over 11th-ranked Minnesota State University, 8-6, Sunday evening in Cary, North Carolina. On the mound, junior right-hander Taylor Dennis (Dans 2010)gave the Eagles seven strong innings to win his 11th of the season. Dennis (11-1 overall, 4-0 postseason) tied the USI single-season record for wins by allowing one run on seven hits. He also struck out six MSU hitters. The Screaming Eagles advance to play sixth-ranked Kutztown University in the winner’s portion of bracket two at 6 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday
