The Danville Dans have named Talley Haines Pitching Coach for the 2010 season.
After completing his college career at Southeast Missouri and Freed-Hardeman Universities, Haines was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 1998. During his 9 year tenure in pro ball, he pitched for the Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies, spending a portion of 7 years in Triple-A.
In 2004 Talley was a Major League Rule 5 selection and was added to the Toronto Blue Jays Major League Roster. He owns a total of five championship rings, ranging from high school, to college, to pro ball where he was a member of two Durham Bulls (AAA) championship teams. Haines was a Double-A All-Star and a member of the 2005 USA National Team.
Making their home in Cape Girardeau, MO, Talley is married to the former Jackie Derwort. They have two daughters, Melaina 2, and Maria 4 months.
Head Coach, Steve Bieser, and Coach Haines bring a combined 22 years of professional ball to the Dans program. They also bring their experience in directing both The Pro Edge Baseball Camps (Bieser) and Balls and Strikes Indoor Baseball Facility (Haines). Watch for further information on Dans camps this summer, to be held June 14-17, July 13-15, and July 27-29.
